Moor Park – ‘Highs’ and ‘lows’ of the last few years

May 2007 – Hosts Radio 1’s Big Weekend, the biggest free music event of its kind in Europe. Over 35,000 people attend.

August 2007 – Madasser Khan, 23, is convicted of rape after attacking a 15 year old polish girl in the grounds of Moor Park.

April 2008 – The park is reported to have a ‘plague’ of rats in and around the duck pond.

April 2008 – Exposed as a prime location for ‘Dogging’ and other sexual activities

June 2008 – A decomposed body is recovered from outside the Jeremiah Horrocks Observatory inside the Park’s grounds.

November 2008 – A 15 year old boy is attacked and threatened with a knife twice in one night by the same gang in the park.
